Abstract
It is desirable to use intramedullary nailing to prevent additional fracture and deformity in surgical treatment of osteogenesis imperfecta. By this reason, we chose Rush intramedullary nailing for ulnar fracture of a 40 year-old lady who have several fracture history with osteogenesis imperfecta. During the first month after operation, the fixation seemed secure. However, after beginning of elbow motion, the nail showed progressive proximal migration. Radial head became prominent as angulation at ulnar fracture increased. We removed the Rush nail and fixed the fracture with plate and screws after correction of the deformity. Though intramedullary nailing is considered as the most efficient fixation method in growing children with osteogenesis imperfecta, it is thought that this method for fractures of already deformed bones in an adult should be considered more carefully.
